EcoGEOS > Paving the path to Socially Responsible Investing | The ...

[The Mountaineer@Green Mountain College] Employing positive and negative screens makes it possible for GMC to decide which funds to invest in and which categories should be excluded from investments. The implementation of SRI will take place as a controlled and stable process so that returns from responsible investments can be assessed and possible trade-offs (if any) can be considered. As a first step with this new type of investing, $300,000 (about 18% of our $3 million endowment) will be responsibly invested initially, if the Investment Committee approves the recommendation.  The ultimate goal of the SRI Committee is to have GMC’s environmental mission statement and investment funds working together to create a more conscious and responsible institution.

[drive blog] drive blog: Toyota's TRD Aurion might boast V8-like performance ...: Love it or hate it, its the first genuine attempted offering from the greedy Toyota company to muscle in on Commondoor territory. In reality its Mitsubishi that builds the best FWD and AWD sedans around.Too bad MMAL has dropped the ball with the 380,its a damn shame they started with an American donor vehicle known as Galant.Mitsubishi has always shaken up the local market with their offerings but now with the Supercharged Ralliart 380 being dropped, there's a tarted up Camry to be offered from Toyota.Just wait 12 to 18 months Toyota for the no doubt superior Ralliart 380!.Yes Im disappointed that the only manufacter to give Toyota a run for its money isnt in the game yet.

[HH/HLST4110 & GS/CDIS5065] HH/HLST4110 & GS/CDIS5065 » Week 6 (Answer TWO of the following ...: I agree that industrialized countries should play a much more significant role in assisting transitional and poorer countries however, I think the absolute lack of action, combined with the global trend of exploitation of transitional and poor countries (as briefly described by Soussan) are clear indications on where the governments of industrialized nations stand on the issue. Of course, culturally sensitive and appropriate HIV/AIDS education programs, global access to HAART treatment and a lobby to pharmaceutical companies to decrease the costs and patent limitations on generic treatment options are all possible strategies that would assist transitional and poor countries in controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS.

[Malaysian Medical Resources] Malaysian Medical Resources: June 2005: Please note that in the Star report, it was stated that "dubious qualifications of students admitted for the institute’s medical studies, the difficulty of its medical graduates in using technical jargons in English and the possible strain on the quality of teaching due to the sudden increase in intake" were the reasons for the derecognition. It is quite possible the medical school and/or their agents were responsible for a recent surge in intake numbers and possible disregard for entrance qualifications that caused the MMC to take action.

[HybridCars.com] Car Culture Wars: Glenn Beck Ridicules Hybrids | Hybrid Cars: "In a comedy routine on his radio program, Beck said: “Last year, when gas prices hit their all-time highs, at over $4 a gallon, of the top ten best-selling cars of 2008, exactly none of them were hybrids, not even the hero of the environmental universe, the Toyota Prius.” In truth, WHEN PICK-UP TRUCKS ARE REMOVED from the 2008 list, the Toyota Prius ranked NUMBER TEN [in a list of 10] for sales of passenger vehicles. In April 2008, when gas prices started their steepest ascent, the Prius rose to No.

[drive blog] drive blog: Why isn't Toyota embraced like Ford and Holden?: For practicality then jap cars can't be beaten[especially Toyota]I also think that the current Commodore is a great looking car and I still like the Falcon even though it is now looking a bit old. When it comes to Periods in car style and domination then Yank cars[including holden ford and chrysler] had it all to themselves until the late sixties and since then european and jap cars have been in front.I am personally a toyota fan and am annoyed that they didn't bring in their performance cars way back in the sixties as they had some really stylish cars and they performed well too[for their period]When people on this blog talk about cars such as Maserati etc they are absolute wankers as such cars are for the rich only and whist they perform well for anything else they are a nightmare and poorly engineered.Another thing people overlook is the fact that not everyone needs or wants performance and as for those hideous addons like spoilers skirts etc well!!!another point is that I have old cars and a couple are toyotas but i acknowledge that older jap cars don;t stand up as well as Holdens and Fords or Valiants to the rigours of time.As for whether people think Toyota is "white goods" well I am quite sure that many people would rather have "whitegoods" rather than a car always in the garage for repairs.I have respect for toyota because they produce great cars that perform well and are durable. However I would like to see more style such as some of their earlier cars .
