EcoGEOS > Legal Theory Blog: Fineman on Gender Equality
[Legal Theory Blog] his essay will be a chapter in Social Citizenship and Gender, edited by Joanna Grossman and Linda McClain (Cambridge University Press 2009). It addresses the anomaly that after four decades of using the ideal of equality to confront gender-skewed distributions of power we, still we find a politics of gender subordination and domination embedded in society and its ideological and structural institutions, including law.

[Byliner: Stories for Barry Goldberg] A Neolib New Deal? - By Mickey Kaus - Slate Magazine: It's certainly a legitimate effort, but at some point the Dems are going to have to see that it leads directly to a contradiction with their Latino base: if we're really serious about raising wages at the bottom we'll want to get control of the inflow of the unskilled before rewarding with citizenship the illegals who make up so much of that inflow.
[Jack & Jill Politics] I Have Questions About Gay Marriage - Jack & Jill Politics: One of the things that I find extremely annoying about the opponents of same-sex marriage, especially those in the African American community, is the way in which they take umbrage at the analogies that proponents of same-sex marriage use as an excuse or justification for denying the justness of their claims. It should not matter one whit whether or not the struggle for same-sex marriage bears any historical or logical relationship to the Civil Rights Movement.

[CNN Political Ticker] CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive ...: I'm sure this won't be posted, I always get put in "moderation"….However, at least FOX admitts to being bias….The cable news channels have it for Obama and McCain….you did this in N.H. also, and you were wrong…..Obama took his name off the ballot in MI, then had the nerve to call my home over 23 times in a week to get me to vote uncommited….so the super delegates in my state could vote for who ever they wanted too….Hillary won, so she will get the super delegates….and if Obama wins the primary, for the first time in over 30 years, I will cross party lines and vote for McCain..If my vote wasn't good enough for him to start with it won't be good enough in Nov…Then laughing at all the voters in FL that went to the polls and voted…saying it didn't matter, there were no delegates to be had….Hope the 1/2 million people that voted for him will remember he laughed at them if he's on the ballot in Nov..I am personally sick of the news media telling me who I'm voting for, can't wait too see all your faces when Hillary wins tomorrow…it was great when she won N.H.
