[Ed Batista: Executive Coaching & Change Management] Ed Batista: Post-Modern Ethics: And MyDD and Daily Kos basically followed the U2 playbook: getting paid by the Dean campaign was entirely consistent with their established attitudes, beliefs and values, and their paid advocacy on behalf of Dean merely reinforced their other writings and activities. Like it or not, ethics scolds, but these are the criteria by which bloggers will be judged.

[the church and postmodern culture: conversation] the church and postmodern culture: conversation: Christ, History ...: Let me directly respond to what Nate rightfully sees as his main concern: that Hauerwas “proffers an account of Jesus Christ's lordship and of the church's mission that is irreducibly bound up with an ideological ecclesiology of the church-as-polis.” I think that I agree with Nate here except for the one word - “ideological.” Nate has helpfully in this conversation defined what he means as “ideological” (I did not find an explicit definition in the book, not that I looked thoroughly for it) - “foregoing the complexities involved for the sake of a set of ideas;” for Hauerwas, I would replace “ideological” with “biblical” or a “communion of saints”. This is minor, but a very significant difference.
[Buzzsaw Haircut] Buzzsaw Haircut » Blog Archive » Reznor and Williams, Reviewed: Oppression, stereotypes, and black history are addressed in post-modern fashion by the NiggyTardust character, allowing Williams to critique a world he knows intimately, from the point of view of a character that embodies all the cold truths, as well as many of the painful misconceptions. It helps that many of the lines are lifted from Williams powerful book “The Dead Emcee Scrolls,” which is why the need for a cover of U2s “Sunday Bloody Sunday” is particularly confounding”never mind making it the first single.

[Discussion Forum - English Companion Ning] Ethics of Authenticity: Chapter 8 Subtler Languages - English ...: A part of my difficulty is that Taylor is talking about a fundamental shift in the way we express ourselves (in art, painting, poetry) since the Romantic period, and its a shift that (if it has in fact has taken place) Ive never thought about. Im an English teacher, and I was totally unaware of a fundamental movement in our discipline, one that Taylor says completely changes the way poems are written and understood!

[Blog Maverick] Bloggers in the Mavs Locker Room ? « blog maverick: While the barriers to entry for blogging are non-existent, the barriers to entry for blogging for the NYTimes or the DMN are essentially the same as for writing for the papers themselves: you need to convince the paper that you\’re worthy of their time and space. As for accuracy, if a NYT or DMN blogger is writing inaccurate or offensive posts, I\’m sure they\’d be excoriated by the press and the blogging community just as severely as if they were writing for the Op-Ed page.
